I used some of the MM2 concepts to build a magic mirror with Alexa (Alexa Voice Service) included. Instead of using the MM2 code, I built an Alexa skill that displays time, weather, quotes, send messages, and take selfies. The full write up can be found on my blog or on my Hackster site.

The communication is based on sending messaged via MQTT from my Alexa Skill to the Raspberry Pi. Note - I’m actually in the process of building a new version of this mirror that better aligns with the “official” magic mirror code base (though still using Alexa to dynamically show and hide content) Hoping to have it rolled out by mid March.
